The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Farrington, Schroeder, Sheppard, Bellino, Berman, Wakeman, Gay-Dagnogo, Wittenberg, Clemente, Stone, Whitsett. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Schroeder to adopt the February 6, 2019, minutes. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4186 and HB 4187 before the committee: HB 4186 (Rep. Farrington) A bill to amend 2004 PA 452, entitled "Identity theft protection act," by amending section 4 (MCL 445.64), as added by 2018 PA 649. HB 4187 (Rep. Farrington) A bill to require certain entities to provide notice to certain persons in the event of a breach of security that results in the unauthorized acquisition of sensitive personally identifying information; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state governmental officers and entities; and to prescribe penalties and provide remedies. Andy Kingman, representing the DLA Piper State Privacy and Security Coalition, testified in support of the bills. Questions and discussion followed. Dave Worthams, representing the Michigan Bankers Association, testified in support of the bills. Questions and discussion followed. Ryan Larson and Mike Loucks, both representing Lansing Automakers Federal Credit Union, testified in support of the bills. Questions and discussion followed. The Clerk read a letter from House Speaker Lee Chatfield which appointed members of the House Financial Services Committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Farrington, Schroeder, Sheppard, Bellino, Berman, Wakeman, Gay-Dagnogo, Wittenberg, Clemente, Stone, Whitsett. Absent/Excused: None. At 12:14 PM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 12:15 PM, the Chair called the committee back to order. Representative Schroeder moved to adopt Wednesday, at 12:00 noon, in room 307 of the House Office Building as the day, time, and location for regularly scheduled meetings of the House Financial Services Committee.
