Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by the Michigan Secretary of State regarding the Department's Preparations for the upcoming 2020 elections in August and November. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:37 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, Lucido, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the meeting minutes from March 11, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to give a presentation regarding the Department's preparations for the upcoming 2020 elections in August and November. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom, supported by Sen. Lucido, to adjourn the committee. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. A presentation from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources on their response to the COVID- 19 pandemic. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Lucido, Theis, MacDonald and Irwin, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from May 27, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair introduced the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Director, Daniel Eichinger and invited him to address the committee via a Zoom meeting. Member questions followed concerning fire-line trained staff, department hiring freeze, furloughs, essential and non-essential staff, forestry staff and activities; Office of the State Employer and Civil Service, license sales and revenues, recreation passports, camp grounds, seasonal workers, number of full-time and seasonal departmental staff, number of staff receiving unemployment insurance benefits and work share program, fish planting and share cropping. Due to time constraints of Director Eichinger, Chair McBroom invited committee members forward him any additional questions to be presented to Director Eichinger for responses. Sen.
