Chair Tsernoglou asked to take a moment of silence to honor and remember the students, Alexandria Verner, Arielle Anderson, and Brian Fraser, from the Chair's community whose lives were taken last week at Michigan State. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Tsernoglou, Wegela, Hope, Koleszar, Byrnes, Churches, Smit. Absent: Rep. Markkanen. Excused: None. Representatives Wegela, Koleszar, Byrnes, Churches and Smit joined the committee remotely. The Chair laid before the committee the Presentation by the Michigan Associaiton of County Clerks, represented by Saginaw County Clerk Vanessa Guerra, and Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HB 4033 before the committee: HB 4033 (Rep. Paiz) A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled "Michigan election law," (MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 634b. Representative Paiz testified in support of HB 4033.
