At that time, the following members were present: Chair Polehanki, Sen.(s) Geiss, Chang, Irwin and Damoose The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Geiss to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Polehanki, Sen.(s) Geiss, Chang, Irwin, and Damoose. Nays: None. The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 83: Sen. Chang - Support Honilynn Hendricks, WSU College of Education Early Childhood Center - Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 83: David Randels, Oakland Schools - Support Rob Mass, MiLEAP - Support Alejandra Barraza, HighScope - Support Jack Elsey, Michigan Educator Workforce Initiative - Support Alexandra Stamm, Michigan League for Public Policy - Support The Chair entertained a motion by Senator Chang to report SB83 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Polehanki, Sen.(s) Geiss, Chang, Irwin and Damoose Nays: None Pass: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported.
