Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by the Director of the Michigan Bureau of Elections regarding the 2020 Elections. The Senate Committee on Oversight called to order at 2:04 p.m. The Committee called roll. A quorum was present. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, Lucido, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. Chair Johnson deferred to Chair McBroom to invite Jonathan Brater, Director of the Michigan Bureau of Elections, to give a presentation regarding the transformation of the Michigan election process and system due to COVID-19 and the implemented safeguards for the November 2020 election. Questions followed from members of both committees. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lucido to adopt the meeting minutes from July 29, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4446 (S-2) (Rep. Calley) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m. She instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, Lucido, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the meeting minutes from May 22, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Meghan Koorndyk, of Rep. Calley's office, and Kieran Marian, of the Michigan Credit Union League, to summarize HB 4446. The following cards were read in of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4446: Jenita Moore, Michigan Secretary of State – Neutral The Chair offered, and summarized, an (S-2) version of HB 4446. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lucido to adopt the (S-2) version of HB 4446.
