The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. Chair McBroom briefed the committee on the day's agenda and provided opening comments including the announcement of possible future hearings with the Department of Corrections to continue the discussions. The Chair invited Michigan Department of Corrections Director, Heidi Washington, to give the committee a presentation regarding the Department. Director Washington was accompanied by Kyle Kaminski, Legislative Liaison, Michigan Department of Corrections. Director Washington provided opening comments to the committee.
