A meeting of the Senate Committee on Agriculture was scheduled for Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 8:30
a.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building.
The agenda summary is as follows:
1. Reported SB 174 (S-2) (Sen. Daley) with recommendation and immediate effect.
2. Reported SB 179 (Sen. Victory) with recommendation and immediate effect.
3. Reported SB 180 (Sen. Lauwers) with recommendation and immediate effect.
4. Reported SB 181 (S-1) (Sen. Lauwers) with recommendation and immediate effect.
5. Reported SB 182 (S-1) (Sen. McBroom) with recommendation and immediate effect.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. He instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the
following members were present: Chair Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Ananich and Polehanki, a quorum
was present.
The Chair made a motion to adopt the meeting minutes from August 13, 2019. Without objection, the
minutes were adopted.
The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 174:
Rebecca Park, Michigan Farm Bureau – Support
Molly Tamulevich, Humane Society of the United States & ASPCA – Opposed
The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 174:

The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Ananich to adopt the (S-2) version of SB 174. The vote was as

Nays: None
The motion prevailed and the (S-2) was adopted.
